Glass Window

I wore the red earphones. Drops of Jupiter. I watched the candle flickering before it was blown by the birthday girl. Rewind. Long distance with dope bout temples and high heels. Conversation near the door. Dosa for dinner. Black and his mail on the ordinariness of life and then the rain.

Its always the same rain. The rain i watched endlessly, sitting on the washing stone in my back yard. The rain i watched wrapped in curtain, a bystander in a world wrapped in itself. The rain on the window of my bedroom, back home. The rain in the beach one day long ago, when time stood still. The rain the night my bike broke down in the dark. The rain in the beach. Its always the same. May be its the same rain that Tagore wrote about

Nelson Mandela said 'There is nothing like returning to a place that is unchanged to know how much u have altered ' and know what. It need not be a place, it can be the rain, it can be the wind, it can be a cup of tea, things that havent changed. If i keep quite and just listen to the rain, or just hold the cup of tea long enough and try to remember; the previous moments in the rain or the previous moments holding the cup; was the turmoil the same, was the happiness the same, was the smile the same, was the listlessness the same, was the peace the same, or has things changed irrevocably? I can almost feel the echo of all those moments, each one of them, thats all it takes.

3 things in life u can stare at like forever. the rain, the sea and the night sky.

Sleepy.. Taataa
